I reached a goal recently and I decided to celebrate by becoming a Free Talk Live (FTL) amplifier. It is a 3USD/mth contribution to FTL so that they may Advertise, Market and Promote (AMP) their show and the entire Liberty Radio Network.
I am notoriously tight with my money. I tend not to drop coins in charity boxes let alone tip at restaurants. Though I will on occasion give or lend money to a friend of a friend that is in the midst of a rough patch. Another campaign I pledged to was the Murphy/Krugman Debate on thepoint.com. But the objective was never reached so I didn't get to honour that pledge.
I tend to download the FTL podcasts and play them in my taxi while I work. There is one talk radio station in Charlottetown, and it is the state-run CBC. When people hear FTL they instantly know it is like nothing they have heard on the radio around here. Many of my fares appreciate it and tip accordingly. It seems fair to pass it along to Ian and Mark at FTL.
